Do you have the skills to alter clothing? Do you enjoy the satisfaction of making people feel great in their garments?  Looksmart Alterations is looking for expert sewing machinists who can perform a range of high quality alterations to achieve the perfect fit.

Our stores are compact, busy places and require tailors who are organised, reliable and committed to high quality standards. In this job, no 2 days will be the same with your daily tasks dependent on what jobs come through the door.

Skills and experience

• Experience in commercial sewing on a range of industrial sewing machines
• Clothing alterations and repairs
• Industrial sewing machine
• Customer garment fitting and pinning (for fashion alterations)
• Must speak, write and understand English
• Basic computer skills and POS experience a must
• Problem solving skills
• Effective verbal communication skills including ability to understand and follow instructions
• The ability to thrive in a busy environment and be a team player with a ‘CAN DO’ attitude
• Able to work under pressure to meet quick deadlines whilst remaining committed to producing high quality work
• Comfortable working independently and multi tasking to getting the jobs done.
• Dressmaking, fashion design and styling skills a bonus
